Beak
A sharp, hooked beak at the front of the mouth for cropping plants.
The horned dinosaurs had a parrot-like beak, a bony frill over the neck and, often, long horns. Their cousins the dome-heads had a skull roof many centimetres thick. All were plant-eaters, and all lived late in the age of dinosaurs.
How to tell
A sharp, hooked beak at the front of the mouth for cropping plants.
A bony frill behind the head, or a thick dome on top of it.
Horns and frills were probably for showing off as much as for fighting.
